Entrepreneurship is a tool and mechanism used to open the minds of individuals and organizations. It is the added-value of Creativity and Innovation which focuses on investing in human capital by enhancing and fostering the can-do attitude.  However, gender issues prevail in entrepreneurship development too. Women entrepreneurs face gender-based barriers to starting and growing their businesses like limited financial resources, access to technical know how, etc. Although, women account for half of the human resources available for economic development, yet their involvement and contribution is inadequate in national income. There is an increased recognition in both developed and developing economies that investing in gender equality and women empowerment is critical and that it has a huge potential to abet the realization of other developmental goals including alleviating poverty, enhancing human security and increased livelihood option. Women in Enterprise Building have emerged as a concern and Agenda for many policy makers, researchers, trainers and as well as for associations and organizations involved in sustainable development.  Therefore, there is urgency to create an enabling environment for entrepreneurship development; strengthening institutional Capacity building in women’s entrepreneurship development and Promoting tools and support services for entrepreneurs.

Considering the emerging trends in Entrepreneurship Landscape, the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi unveiled the game changer campaign "Start-Up India" Stand-Up India to promote entrepreneurship at grass root level for economic empowerment and job creation. The launch of the Start-up India Campaign is an    important   milestone which seeks to leverage the institutional credit structure to reach out to the underserved sector of people such as Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Women entrepreneurs so as to enable them to participate in the economic growth of the nation. The objective of the Stand-Up India Scheme is to facilitate bank loans to under privileged and Women borrowers for setting up a greenfield enterprises in India.

The Stand-Up India campaign provides a digital platform to support enterprises promotion among entrepreneurs especially women through providing handholding support, Information on financing and Credit Guarantee.
